subaru forester

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a forester and the engine light, traction control are on and the cc is blinking.  this has been going on and off for a year now.  Here is the problem I took it to the dealer who said I need a new engine  because it was stalling out and the lights were on, so I got a brand new box engine.  6 weeks after the lights started to come on again, so back to the dealer after they had it for 3 days, they said come get it they didn't know what was wrong.  about 2  months  later lights came on again along with atoil temp light and ABS. Back to the dealer it went, now they tell me I need the trans changed, but there isn't an indication of any trans problems. I ask them how can that be the service guy said he didn't know.  I have taken it to a shop that specialize in subarus and they said the cars shouldn't have left the dealer, because the codes for the mother board wasn't right. the car keeps doing the light thing even after I have the lights shut off.  I am upset about this.  the car drives fine but I drive daily for work and don't want to break down. can anyone tell me what the heck is wrong with this car?

I think you need to find a good Subaru specialist. I think this dealer is taking you for a ride all the way to the bank. If the check engine light is on get the codes read and let us know what they are.

I recently had my traction light, ABS light and one other come on and it was the brake light switch. Be careful though. It took 3 visits to fix it because it HAS to be a Subaru replacement, not generic. The generic one does't recognize both parts and either my brake lights worked or my remote starter did but not both. With the Subaru brand, no issue !!!

Same issue as in first one. The diagnostics should tell you. I may need a new abs sensor

I also got my forester serviced and it's losing power plus traction cruise cont. And check engine light flashing. Noticed fuel going down fast.
