I have a 2009 Chevy Cobalt and I have no heat..
The heater blowers full capacity. I hear a loud
noise and the heat comes on as little and then
starts back blowing cold. The noise is loud and last
a few seconds.Its not constant..

Does the loud noise sound like it might be blower motor related? I can't really think of anything else that would make a loud noise. Of maybe an actuator / door that directs the hot or cold air sticking and making noise as it tries to move?
I took it to a shop and they told me it was a cracked head gasket.
Cracked head, or cracked head gasket? There's a big difference and a failed gasket is not usually referred to as being "cracked" which makes me wonder. Be sure to get a repair estimate before going ahead. This could start to run into some serious money.
