Question type: General

Ok so I had my engine swapped last year. The guy disconnected my ac and
now when you try to charge it you can only fit 1lb of freon in the system. Ive
been told it should hold 3lbs. Also it will leak out within 2 days tops and I have
no cold air to the rear of my vehicle. Anyone ever experience this?

We have done that and didnt find one. Im wondering if the line didnt get pinched when the motor was swapped out because I had great ice cold air until the engine swap.

Also when hooked to the machine you can only put 1lb of the refrigerant in the vehicle and Ive read it should hold 3lbs.

Who is doing the work? Someone with the correct equipment that knows what they are doing? To do this properly the system needs to be evacuated with a vacuum pump, dye and refrigerant installed to the correct pressures. Once the leak is found and fixed you will need to evacuate the system again and install the correct amount of refrigerant.

The dye cannot be seen without a UV light.

Yes they did it that way. My father in law has the big machine for doing all of that.

Was the car running and the compressor on when charging it? First things first. Find the leak and fix it.
