2009 Jetta won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi! I have a 2009 Jetta 2.5. Could not get it to start today. All lights/electrical worked.
Jump started it okay. But then could not get it to shift out of park. Finally shut the car off
but it would not start again. Took the battery to AutoZone and they declared it "bad".
Purchased a new battery, installed it and nothing. Car will not even attempt to start. All
electrical still working. Not sure if this in one problem or two or what? Help!

You might have more than one problem- a new battery is a good "start" hahahahahah- sorry- now that the battery is good, it's the list of usual suspects: starter/solenoid, ignition switch, fribbit bearing (OK- I made that last one up)
I have the SAME ISSUE!! Also a 2009 Jetta!
Probably too late, but Check the brake light switch.
