Ford Escape Engine Swap

I have a 2005 Ford Escape XLS 4wd with no engine and a
2006 Ford Escape 2wd with rear end damage, can I put the
2006 engine in the 2005 body?

Assuming same engine and tranny in both, same rear diff. gearing, still will likely have to reflash ECM.

Are they both ( 4 cylinders) or( both V 6's) if not It's going to make a difference (Not stated in your question )???
