Was there ever a recall for Ford Escapes 2005 for engine dying when stopping at a stop sign?

Our 2005 Ford Escape drives fine but now the engine dies each time I stop at a stop
sign/light and I keep it in drive with my foot on the brake.  It restarts fine but I must put in
neutral when stopping to prevent the engine from dying.  Anyone help???
