2005 ford escape key wont turn

The key wont turn and the theft light is
blinking. I've tried disconnecting the positive
battery post, turning the wheel, unlocking and
locking doors. Someone please help

I had the same problem with my 2005 escape. Had to have it towed turned out it was the ignition lock. The part was inexpensive and the replacement was less than $100
