Worth investing in body work

Asked by GuruT4LX4 Jun 06, 2018 at 10:02 PM about the 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got into an accident and don’t have insurance for the needed 3500 in
bodywork. Has 135k miles & is in good shape otherwise. Is it worth having it
fixed (& paying out of pocket)??

Evaluate the repair costs against the RAV's value after the repairs. if you spend $3500, and get the RAV back to what it was before the accident, then you will break, about, even. (OK not really cause you shelled out $3500- but ?) However if you were to take the same $3500 ( I know you don't have it, but just as an example) and apply it to another car, your payments for the balance may be in the "do-able" range. if you qualify, etc.,etc. I have been in your situation and it is never a easy choice, a lot depends on how much you can do with what you have. Best of luck
