, VEH RSC ABS , Brake alarm warning

Took Ford Exp. to Sunnyvale Ford dealership for service end of January
2020 . Problem was when driving VEH RSC warning light came on and
chimes same time. Dealership changed the part and replaced harness
including modules.# 14401. She paid $1910 including parts and labor.   After
few weeks mid February same problem happened she called service ,she
was told this might cost a lot to repair again. In June she took back the car
service guy told her they will check the problem again since the repaired it.
The estimate to repair again was
$4,824.63 including parts and labor, but since they have no original ,part for
2009 model Ford cannot repair  it, also they said even if they would have the
parts ,Ford does not guaranty the car will run better due to unknown special
issues. Car otherwise runs but now ABS , Brake alarm,
VEH RSC alarm and chimes on while driving.
My daughter do not want to spend any more on the car what is in good
shape has only 64K miles in it. Now it's worth than it was before .Question
what can we do ?

Take the car somewhere else. This shop is looking at a job they want to price you out of wanting to do the work or they are just trying to get as much as they can out of you. If you know the part name or part number they were quoting to replace, talk to alternate parts people or go on-line and have the part quoted. A ten year old part should not be hard to locate. Sounds like it is related to the control module but with little to go on it is hard to say. The dealer's comment about "unknown special issues" really puts them in a special group of questionable reputation. Find another shop or dealer to help you and forget the $2K you already spent with this place.
