Driver door not working

Asked by Sterf0 Apr 08, 2021 at 02:23 PM about the 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My driver door has no power except for its speaker,
after reading forums I thought it be the switch, after
buying and installing the part the truck will not start
and I get service messages, I took it to a dealer and
they said it’s plug and play and that I have other
problems, when I got home I check all fuses and
now I don’t know where to start on fixing the door

Most likely the wiring going to the door from the body of the vehicle is damaged. Remove the rubber tube from the wiring harness in the doorjamb and inspect the wires. Look for broken or bare wires. Hope that helps! Jim
