2009 Passat 2.0T no acceleration EPC and exclamation point lit up

Asked by Bill Apr 19, 2018 at 08:12 AM about the 2009 Volkswagen Passat Komfort

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning as I pulled away from my driveway, the EPC light and the
Exclamation point in the digital display came on and the the car would not
accelerate at all. I would press on the gas and get nothing, it just ran at idle. So
I idled my way back to the driveway and parked. What would cause this? I've
already spent way too much on repairs on this dang lemon.

Mass air flow sensor. My 2002 passat 4 motion did same shit until it finally died out. Buy mass air flow cleaner can and a air filter ,unclip sensor remove two clamps, then four bolt and pull the housing with sensor off and spray the mesh and inside the hole on sensor also spray inside plug connector. Then while drying remove air filter housing, clean inside the box vacuum up all dirt, put new filter and start replacing everything and it should be okay
