2009 dodge hemi ram

Can lifters be adjusted in this year model. A
mechanic told me when adjusting the lifter the rod
can drop down into block. That doesn't make
sense. I have a noise that sounds like an exhaust
leak. Can someone help. I've tried some tricks to
no avail

These engines all have nonadjustable rockers, all hydraulic....unless the engine has been mod'ed. Exhaust leaks are common, especially when your beast has too much salt in it's diet. Just ask a Ford owner. Aluminum heads against iron exhaust manifolds are always more prone to leaks in the join between the head n manifold.

BTW, I think you have overhead cams...soooo, don't think you got lifters n rockers...my bad!?!
