Hard down shifting

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 (4.7) with 221K miles is starting to down shift hard
when decelerating. Right when it hits 30 MPH and is slowing, a hard down
shift can be felt. It only occurs when I approach 30 MPH. Regular up shifting
is not a problem. The truck runs and shifts up fine. Any ideas?

I have read every comment on this page. A lot of good information. I just done know about yours. I'm having issues but mine will not shift up out off 1st.
Mine is doing the same. Has yours gotten worse or had any other trans. issues?
Try changing your Map Sensor. It may or may not give you a cel yet but eventually will. I had been chasing that harsh downshift for a while. I did remember that long ago I had a car that was doing a similar problem due to a faulty temp sensor. Weird how some "unrelated" systems affect other things.
