I own a Kia Spectra 2009 EX. Let me tell you that those cars are well made. MY car has 150,000 miles, I have pushed the engine many times going fast on the highway, accelerating like a maniac pretending to be in a fast car, running low quality gasoline on it, I have poured gasoline mix with brake fluid, mix with atf fluid, and the car runs perfect. The only major repairs I had done to the car has been changing the radiator and that's because Kia uses plastics in their radiators so the heat of the engine, plus the hot water, plus the weather from Florida during summer times don't help much on preserving plastic, and the other part was the alternator after 7 years it die on me but engine is perfect.
My Kia Spectra 2008 EX just hit 250,000 miles today and running great. I told my wife that I wouldn't buy a new car until this one died. That was five years ago. Looks like I should buy a Kia again. All I have done is change the oil every three months and a timing belt every 90,000 miles.
Bought my son a 2006 Spectra w/140K (now pushing 190K)miles for his first car. Was in pretty good condition, paid $1300 and put another $700 in tires, some suspension work and a new timing belt. That was almost 6 years ago and it's still running strong. I know my son will be happy to graduate college and buy his own car, but it's been a reliable car for him and has saved him and us a lot of money.
Mine has 189k and I'm about to put to rest the cost of repairs needed right now outweigh the vehicle but it is a great car it's been places that it shouldn't and untill now has been very affordable to to keep it running I was going try to push another 100k but I think it time to replace
