Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have put 43,000+, not sure if the pads are worn or if its the rotars, drums.
I have smelled my breaks from going down steep mountain hill high ways at certain speeds. but
my brakes are still working.
Any idea on whats wrong with it?

your brake pads are worn, the noise you are hearing is the squeailler on pad rubbing the rotor.

Is this really bad? will there need to be work done on the rotar too?
no,not bad, just have pads replaced, doubt rotors are damanged.

Ok thank you So Much, I hope that after changing it, the Noise will be gone.
no problem.that is what the squealler is for,to let you know the pads need replaceing.

change your pads. if also the rotors have problems then the brakes will not work and will slide... but it still does so the screeking low sound is the worn out pads rubbing the rotors...check the lines for leaks too, just to be sure...
