Hey guys, I was changing my alternator on my
toyota camry LE 2010 and I was able to take out
the old one but when I was trying to put the new
one in, it got stuck and it does not want to go in all
the way. Is there something I'm not doing right?
The alternator are identical can someone help
please.

Was the fork on the new alternator machined correctly? Have you measured the opening of the old vs the new with a caliper?
I really don't know if it was and no I didn't measure it but the old alternator was giving me so trouble when I was taking it out as well.
They are made to fit snug. I have worked on Toyotas a lot and you are right. It almost pays to change them out in hot weather because the metal is a little softer and they push on easier. Trying to line that bolt up can be challenging. I usually work them on by raising and lowering them until they get to the right place.
I hope for your sake that you are putting a Denso back on. :)

Ezra, I just did this, They are a bugger to get back on because they fit so tight. Try to line up one of the holes and get the bolt started then wiggle and jiggle and tickle the thing to line up the other one. you might even need a screw driver or something to stick in to line them up.
Thank you all for your assistance I was able to put it in after trial and error and a very smart Girlfriend lol. It works great now.
