temp gauge not working check engine light on message engine hot but not

Check code and if it's not hot but just indicating that it is, replace temperature sensor

My gauge is showing cool but my message is saying engine is hot

Not the thermostat. There's 2 different temperature sensors, one turns on the cooling fans and the otherone shows engine teperature, findout which one is bad and replace it
