Gear shift

Asked by Larry Nov 15, 2018 at 03:52 PM about the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: General

When the gear shift is in drive there is a minus sign to the left and a plus sign to
the right. The shift handle will move left or right but doesn't seem to do
anything. What are these for?

It is manual mode upshift and downshift, you should see on dashboard what gear you are in if you ever use it

It doesn’t actually shift the transmission. It limits how high a gear it will shift to. Downshifting from “D” takes it all the way to first gear on the first motion. You could lose control of the car or damage the engine and/transmission. Extremely poor design

To make it go back in drive just shift up (to the right) till it says D itll be back in drive
