Single or dbl click noise

Asked by Patricia Jan 19, 2020 at 02:02 PM about the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sorry for a long post but needed to explain as I
have googled my little heart out and cannot find an
answer. I have a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country.
When I am in park and put my van in reverse I hear
a click or two from my front driver side tire area.
Sounds similar to a CV axle click but it's not
constant. Doesn't matter if. Backing up and turning
it backing straight up. Now before everyone jumps
on the simple solution I will list what repairs I
myself have done as to not waist anyone's time. All
brand new parts : driver & passenger CV
axles/sway bars/tie rods/struts/control
arms(includes ball joint)/break pads, driver side
break caliper and hub assembly. And yes I had an
alignment done. Tires are good I drive rideshhare
so I keep up with all of that. Have also changed all
trans & motor mounts not that those pertain to
what's happening now. Seems Everytime I fix
something I find another issue. Any and all advise
is not only welcomed but needed.

That is a lot of repairs....meaning a lot of potential problems...only have to forget one thing or leave one bolt a bit loose or put in one clip/retainer wrong. I would be inclined to concentrate on the brake caliper, but that is just my gut talking. To be right there and listen to the sound in person would make a world of difference. Peeps put sound clips in here sometimes but that rarely helps at all since their mic picks up too much or too little and the target noise just does not come through from the recording. I'd just make a quick double check of my work and retighten everything. After that, if the noise is minimal and nobody else mentions it and (most importantly....) it is not getting any worse....i would not bother with it. If it does start getting worse....then you will have to ferret it out.
