Wierd sound 2005 Focus ZX4 SE

Ok, here's one for ya! when my heater fan switch is on you here what sounds like a switch or solenoid clicking on and off, and then a whirring sound. When I was driving and at park I couldn't figure it out. Then I turned off the heater blower and it stopped. Turned it back on and it started. don't know what it is, and doesn't seem to be affecting anything. I recently replaced the alternator , but it was doing this before that. Only thing wonky now is my ac doesn't blow cold, but hasn't for a while. Then again, this noise has been going on for awhile. any ideas guys?

its your a/c cycler,,,,, it will turn your a/c pump on for a second then off a few seconds later about 8 it will kick on again,,,,, its a safty thing... if it bothers you just unplug the power lead to the a/c unit at the a/c pump.ooo oh an get the a/c refiled....
