2010 F-150 FACTORY ALARM DASH LIGHT

Asked by Guru55SKN Dec 27, 2017 at 07:44 PM about the 2010 Ford F-150 XL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I REPLACED THE BATTERY IN MY 2010 F-150 AND ONCE THAT WAS DONE THE FACTORY INSTALLED ALARM LIGHT IN THE DASH BLINKS SLOWLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF. IS THIS CORRECT OR IS THIS A COMPUTER ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. IT WAS NOT BLINKING AT ALL UNTIL I REPLACED THE BATTERY.

Disconnecting the battery probably did reset a module, so the system is working again.

you all are the best. thank you !!!!! a ford dealer's mechanic was talking about diagnostic fees $180.00, and if it is not working properly the truck will not let me start it and they would have to tow it. UH HUH. then i got to thinking "i think the light SHOULD be blinking when the truck is off and when im out of the truck to let me know the alarm is actually working. another mechanic told me to leave the chip keys in the truck and the computer would "learn" that i am using the proper keys. and stop blinking. UH HUH.THANKS AGAIN !!!
