F-150 2010 delayed start

Asked by LO Aug 10, 2020 at 11:09 AM about the 2010 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 F-150 doesn't start until after the dash gauges cycle. It always starts
after, but about 70% of the time I have to wait for the gauges to cycle before
starting.

Are you using a key other than what came with the vehicle (originals)? For info purposes, I have two extra keys made at a hardware store so I would have four sets. The two original keys will start up the vehicle instantly. For the other two, I have to turn the key to the on position, then wait about one second for the vehicle to start. If I turn the key and hold it, it will start after about one second also. My vehicle is a 2010 also.
