vapors but only is fuel tank is 1/4 or below. Tighten gas cap still comming on
after replacing cap already. Could use some advise since the EVAP canister is

I think you need to do a smoke test to find the leak. What exactly do you mean by the fuel shutting off? This could be a bad fuel pump.
Re: Fuel Shut off The fuel pump at stations is continuously shutting off after about 5 gallons. It then takes very long to put gas in tank even at the slowest nozzle speed by hand.
Curt/whomever with any advice/suggestions - unlikely that you’ll see my comment but i figure it’s worth a shot! ive not come across hardly anybody else who’s come across/dealt with this same issue like you’d described… did you ever wind up figuring out what the issue was & what needed to be done to repair it? i’m having/have had this same issue for some time now with my 2007 GMC Yukon Denali(6.2v8)… exactly as you’ve described - minus the “tighten gas cap” DIC message as i believe my model year doesn’t display detailed alerts other then “service engine, service suspension , service tpms, oil, etc etc.” so narrowing it down has been a little more of a game of hit or miss, but, even still, i’m having the same exact symptoms. fuel pump stops erratically… cannot even get a consistent $2-$5 fill without it stopping as if it were full…but it’s not. also throwing P0455 have changed gas cap (however , i can’t be certain it’s the exact fit as i had it in my garage but not much else it could go to) i don’t smell gas no visable leaks, no spills any tips as they pertain to where to begin my investigating/diagnosing would be so incredibly appreciated !!!! thanks •lex
