yes H25, chinese or even tiawanese can seem like a discount, but if you're doing a mechanic's job you gotta have mechanics tools! made in USA is getting rarer and rarer every day, even MAC and even Snap-on (usual brand of mechanic's around here) has gone chinese to save themselves money~ (at the expense of the American reputation)~

Buy American! (like trying to find an old guy mechanic)~

you know H25, the population of the US vis-vis other countries like china or Japan has a population density quite not as aggressive as most metropolitan areas, and we have the highway system thanks to one of our war-time presidents....all this is very inviting to foreigners...sadly, California has Plenty of room for everybody (not in the Bay Area, where you will be shut-out economically at ten times the normal price), but agricultural concerns always can use another laborer in the central valley especially. When I was at the grocery store here in town there was plenty of these "chinese garlic in these handy 3 packs, but NO gilroy garlic...are you friggin' kidding me? easier to ship from 8000 miles away then 120 miles from your own backyard? who is making these decisions? clearly they have no national pride or regard for American workers.

Heh, I'll buy German for my tools every time rather than Snap-Off these days. Stahlwille, Gedore and Hazet still have a better QA system than anyone else in the business (the reason why I'm having all the Snap-On tools in my hangar being replaced by Gedore and Stahlwille). As for Chinese garlic: it's simply the power of the market, but don't worry, as soon as the US dollar is no longer worth the paper it's printed on you'll see local produce in the stores again due to the simple fact that the relative cost of imported foodstuffs will be astronomical. Unless the US garlic farming industry goes belly up beforehand...
