Cylinders 2 4 6 Misfire
Hello,
My 3.6L V6 has been misfiring when driving.
Specifically on cylinders 2,4,6. The engine begins
to jerk/misfire whenever I apply a small amount of
fuel (about 10% of the pedal). If I give it a lot of
gas, then the engine returns to it's normal state.
Furthermore, it has been having a hard starting in
the cold because of this. (Battery, spark plugs, and
coils are all fine). I was originally thinking it must
be fuel delivery to just that side of the engine, but
there are no other error codes besides the misfires.
I know this specific engine has a faulty timing
chain tensioner that fails and allows the timing
chain to skip a tooth and cause either stage 1 or
stage 2 to be off, which would make sense if an
entire side of the engine was misfiring. How can I
tell if its fuel delivery or timing chain? I appreciate
any input!
