Smoke coming out of the hood

Hi guys, I brought this bmw 320i about 6 months
ago and when I was driving today I noticed smoke
coming out of the hood and saw that the coolant
level was low. Do you guys know what the problem
might be. I checked the oil level and it was normal

I have a 2002 335ci doing the same thing. It eventually starts smoking and drains the radiator too. I've already changed the VCG.
