water on amplifier.

Will water on my amplifier completely destroy my sound system for a BMW
335i?  A shop states that my speakers are destroyed and I can't believe that
BMW would make something that faulty.

Water will absolutely ruin speakers (or most electrical gear). How did it get wet?

Why would BMW make a water proof stereo system? Some people put the top up when it rains.

Gary, thanks for response. I have no idea yet where the water leaked in from. Wow, so I'm really looking at replacing the speakers huh?

The car is 12 year old anyway. New, high quality speakers can make it sound better than ever. I would have a stereo shop do the work, not the over priced dealer.
