Guessing that you don't have AAA or another roadside assistance plan (If you did, they could supply the flatbed tow truck). Also, your BMW is a rear wheel drive, so towing with the back wheels on the ground is not an option. Sounds like you're just towing to the shop for repair, so the easier way would be to just arrange to have a flat bed tow truck tow it...expect to pay at least $50 for this (overall cost depends on distance the truck has to go)

I would use a flatbed. You can dolly it, but you would need to disconnect the driveshaft. The transmission requires constant lubrication, which requires the engine to be running.

FLAT BED ONLY!!! I DID TOWING TRUST ME. you will damage bottom on bumps, your shocks are not like the tow trucks. the truck doesn't feel bumps that the bmw is crying every time it goes over one.

and mechanically NOTHING is in circulation since the car is off, SO PARTS BREAK ON LONG TOWS WITH TWO WHEELS ON GROUND

Incorrect.. I have towed for 22 years on a wheel lift we are using the suspension designed for the vehicle.. I have operated both flatbed and wheel lifts must damage occurs in a flatbed.. Wheel lift we are only touching the tires... You also do not have two suspension systems competing against each other.. Ask a professional... Not someone whom had never towed.. You can always ask your local towing company's.. The do not want to damage your car and pag for it.. So you will always find the best advice there

Flat bed would be better to use .. Like that you avoid damaging your suspension

If your car is upside down you're going to damage the roof if you drag it. So I'd go with the flat bed for sure. lol

OMG these comment are the best lol I've been towing cars for 19years. You have a rear wheel drive car with a weak unibody frame. A wheel lift picking it up from the back is the best for you car. A flatbed will hook frame holes and drag your on to the bed. Then once truck they will more then likely hook up the rear chains and pull your car tight with a 10,000 lbs winch stressing the unbody. Every bump the truck drives over will stress your frame even more. BAD IDEA!! just pick it up from the tires and roll it down the street.. I love the comment above mentioning the shocks are different from the tow truck LOL.. Of course they its a car LOL roling down the street.. SO WHEEL LIFT ONLY UNLESS AWD Then use a dolly

So can toy that said to tow from rear. So what would happen if towed this way to the front bumper and apron. Will it not get damaged more if towed from rear. Does the front number not hang lower once the rear is lifted?

Not only could the front be damaged, but it also upsets the balance of the load. Plus the steering wheel would need to be locked so the wheels remain totally straight.

Some of these answers are so cringe worthy I feel like they’re trolling you could use a wheel lift. If you lock your steering column or you could use a flatbed there’s more than one way to do something people….. Shesh Louise
