2008 BMW 535 6Manual

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
As I approach 100K miles, are there maintenance items I should plan to do for
sure? I don't find any suggested maintenance items. I've seen discussions of
timing chain replacement, as I would expect from car hitting 100K. Other big
items I should plan on?

I would ask a BMW specialist.
Replacing the parts on the cooling system is up there on the list, with worn suspension components. Change the transmission fluid if you haven't already.

No need to worry about the timing chain unless you're dealing with issues like Vanos/VVT codes or noise. Take a look at this link. I also recommend searching around on E90 forums and whatnot that talk about the N54 engine (same in your 535i). https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1167171
