5.3 litter engine has a horrible tapping noise problems starting help

i have a 2004 cadillac esacalade and it started to have a horrible tapping
noise and sense this problem started also been giving me problems starting
and from what i could tell it looks like the starter is good and everything else
except for when i try to turn the vehicle on the fly wheel seems to not go all
the way around its like its jamming or something and when i finially do get it
to start it taps really bad its almost got me thinking the oil pressure idk?
