Further differences between 2006 Mercedes CL55 AMG & CL600

Asked by Guru9FM2VC Jan 14, 2023 at 08:21 PM about the 2006 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class CL 55 AMG

Question type: General

I'm looking to purchase a 2006 Mercedes CL55 AMG or a CL600 & I'm aware
of the engine differences & that the 55 has larger brakes.  When they were
originally offered for sale in 06', the 600 was almost 10k more than the 55.  Try
as I might, I can't find any other differences online among the two & any further
insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Not much difference between what you posted about the larger engine and brakes. The CL600 is the fast car with the larger engine and has a twin turbo. That is the main difference between the new car price. They are probably very close in price now in the used market. Both cars are not very dependable and you will need to endless supply of money to keep your mechanic happy. Read the horror stories on the Benz forums.

I agree, buying a Mercedes this old is asking for trouble! Especially if it has a lot of miles on it! My advice is buy a newer Toyota, Lexus, or Ford Product. It might not be as prestigious but you'll be richer in the long run! Jim
