Fuel or Electronic Issue?

Asked by Itsmeitsmek2dat Jul 08, 2019 at 05:11 PM about the 2002 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 02 Cadillac Deville. Car was running fine
until installed an amp. Battery died during
installation, charged battery & when went to leave
car acted likebit wasn't getting any gas. Gas hand
is out so went to get more gas just in case. Car
then didnt want to crank at all. Will crank if ether
into it but will die quickly. I think the issue has to
do with the installation of the amp but my friend
thinks it's the fuel pump. Idk alot about cars so we
replaced the fuel pump & it's still doing the same
thing as before. What is yalls opinion on what
could be wrong?

More than likely the amp is drawing too much power, try disconnecting the amp and charging the battery. if the car starts fine it is the amp. The amp should be connected in such a way that it is on ONLY when the engine is on, and not directly to the battery, using a relay will help.
