2011 Buick Lacrosse CXS Loud grinding noise on cold Startup.

Asked by Guru9C3TX5 Aug 11, 2021 at 04:11 PM about the 2011 Buick LaCrosse CXS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Every morning in summer and winter... my car struggles to start and makes a
loud grinding noise for about 3 seconds or so. Does anyone have an opinion /
suggestion about this? Something is definitely not right.
Thanks.

it's cold!! you most likely have loose belt OR bad bearings in a pulley. I'm cranky when I wake up too... automobiles are very similar. good luck.. not too much cream in your coffee though. Creamer has WAY too much synthetic sugar and you a1c will go up. Your doctor will NEVER tell you this ( he's busy making money off your not needed visit).

maybe the starter spur gear is not dis engaging , many call it a bendix but that's just the name of a manufacturer , pop the hood have someone start it and take a listen
