2011 Buick LaCrosse CXS Starting problem
Asked by Victor Feb 11, 2017 at 06:17 PM about the 2011 Buick LaCrosse CXS FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Ok in the morning or whenever I don't use for a
while it will start, but after I use for a while it won't
start and the check engine light is on. Or even if I try
and remote start, it won't start. Only starts when it's
cool.

Best thing to do is get it scanned for codes. This would point out the problem for repair. May want to take it to your local trusted garage.

Ran into this same issue with my Lacrosse - it ended up being that a cell in the car battery had gone bad or was going bad. I replaced the battery and all was resolved. I would start by checking your battery terminal connections to ensure they're good and firm. If so, then take the battery and have it tested to verify it's working properly. The other possibility could be that your alternator isn't charging the battery quite right and the battery only recovers after sitting. Good luck!
Hello. I'm having the same issues with my Buick. I've changed the battery and the post. The alternator and starter checks out ok. Did you ever find out what's the problem
Hi did anyone ever find the issue GuruX3CV6 did you? I’m having the same issue

check for a penny in a cigarette lighter. Will cause a continuous flow of current that over time frys the battery.

I had a long term problem with my 2011 Buick Lacrosse sometimes not starting in damp weather. Turned out it was the security receiver that senses the presence of the car key. Hard to diagnose, but once fixed, this problem I have been dealing with for years is now resolved. I've read reports on this issue that dealers have replaced the car computer and fuses and starter relays, some of which I have done. It was just that security receiver.
