Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car when I start it, it starts and then chugs or
shakes with darker Smoak coming out of tail pipe.
Then it either continues to start and is fine or
stalls. The exhaust smells abit too like gas and I
just got new spark plugs and air filter and oil
change. When I start it back up after stalling it is
fine also. After though it runs fine and is ok. Please
help me

sounds like it may be having either some oil seep into the intake or there is a large amount of carbon build up. either way it would not hurt to have the engine decarboned. the early modal cars did have a carbon issue and if your over 120,000km and use only the low quality gas then its likely the culprit. either that or the cat is going bad. is there any warning lamps on in the dash ?

carbon build up would not necessarily make it not pass a emissions test. it simply accumulates and starts to block air ways and injectors. you can have the cylinders scoped to confirm this you can pick a camera scope up at most automotive places that sell tools. this would be the simplest way to do it the other way is to remove the intact manifold which i would be where a good portion of the carbon would be. just so you know I can't be 100% sure this is the issue as i am not actually looking at the car personally but i would warrant it is a good place to start to look for issues.
