Windshield wipers stopped working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter's windshield wipers stopped working on her 2011 VW Jetta SEL
sedan, while driving in rain a day ago.  Is there a relay that can be replaced?
I've watched the YouTube videos on replacing the motor and assembly, but
need to order parts first.  Fuse is fine.  I hear a buzzing sound outside of
windshield near wiper motor, but no action on wiper arms.  Ideas?  Is there a
way to lubricate any parts that seem as if they're seized up?
