Can't open passenger side door from inside
Hi my name is Joel, I have a 2011
GMC Sierra 1500 and I just finished
replacing the passenger side mirror
a month and a half ago or so and
everything worked fine, I just
noticed recently that I cannot open
my passenger side door from the
inside now and don't understand
why, it opens perfectly fine from the
outside, but I go to lift the door
handle on the inside and nothing
happens, the door handle is not
broken and is on perfect shape, so I
know it isn't the door handle, it feels
like something got disconnected
somehow from the door handle
because I don't feel any tension at
all when I lift it from the inside,
when I replaced the side mirror I
didn't mess with the door handle
cable or actuator so I'm just at a
loss on what the problem could be,
as much as I don't want you I'm
afraid I'm going to have to take off
the door panel again which I hated
doing when I had to replace the
side mirror, I've tried to explain and
the best detail that I can what the
problem is, it opens perfectly fine
from the outside and there's
nothing wrong with the door handle
on the inside, when I lifted nothing
happens and the door doesn't open
it's basically it, if this sounds like a
simple fix or if you have an idea are
they exactly what the problem
could be I would appreciate any
answers that you could give me to
this question that way I'm not
wasting my time messing around
with anything I shouldn't be, I'm
sure giving you this information
leaves only a few possibilities that
could be the problem, please let me
know.... Thank you for your time
sincerely Joe Farrell
