I have seen where RX-7,RX-8 spares will fit my Miata.  What year would the
RX7 or RX8 need to be.  Can I safely use a 16" for a short time.  Are there any
other vehicle spare that would work?  Some claim the Mazda 3 spare will
work.  It is a T125/70/16.  Will a RX7 or RX8 spare fit in my 2011 Miata?  I
know this is a lot of questions bit I am having truble finding clear answered.  
Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.  J.

Found that a 16" spare wheel from a 2006 to 2016 Mazda 3 will fit The 2011 Miata Touring PRHT. My 2011 has 17" wheels but the 16" spare is safe to use as a temporary. I bought my 16" wheel from Mazda for $120 and the tire from Maxxim who make spare wheels for many auto manufacturers. I found that it pays to check out different Mazdz dealerships for the wheel as their prices do vary. Total expenditure was about $200. I am quite satisfied with paying a few dollars more for a brand new wheel and tire. The spare fits perfectly in the trunk. Just a note: I had a 1992 Miata and now my 2011. I experienced 2 tire blow outs over the years and both were on the sidewall. You can't fix those. So I am a firm believer in always carrying a spare. Hope this is of help to some fellow Miata owners.
