2011 LE Dodge Caliber hydraulic gear box

Asked by IDOGIB Mar 18, 2016 at 11:48 AM about the 2011 Dodge Caliber Express FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Dodge Calibe LE, live in a tropical country, the gear box heats
up and stalls; on highways or long roads, it heats up and stalls, the car slows
down. Mechanics have told me this type of car is not suitable for tropical
countries and an additional cooling kit for the gear box ned to be installed. I
would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you

Thank you for your advise. I can´t understand it either. I loked up in User's Manual and it states that "During sustained high speed driving on hot days, the automatic trnasmission oil may become too hot." The problem is that where I live, all days are hot. Every time I drive on the highway or long road, in about one hour, the transmission oil becomes hot. I guess I will hav to install an additional cooler. Best Regards.
