Oil pressure
1 Answer
It COULD just be a bad sending unit, it engine actually runs without making noise try removing sending unit and putting a mechanical gauge in it's place. If you suspect you do have an actual loss of oil pressure stop driving or running the engine and get a mechanic on it right away. Causes can range from bad oil pump, clogged pickup screen, filter/relief valve, if oil pressure starts out okay and drops as engine warms up there can be a number of reasons, worn bearings or crank, piston rings, dirty filter, and so on.
