Traction Control light and engine light
Asked by mguzman1010 Aug 11, 2016 at 09:26 PM about the 2011 Toyota Tundra Limited 5.7L V8 CrewMax RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
While driving one day my Traction Control, VCS Off, and Check Engine lights turned on. When I was driving the truck it wouldn't downshift to accelerate. I drive a 2011 with approximately 75k miles. I had to disconnect my battery to reset the system which took care of the problem temporarily. Now the lights will come on every other day or so. Help/suggestions??

Im having the same problem with my Tundra 2014 4.6L, what did the dealership tell you because at autozone they told me it was the Transmission Speed Sensor and there is two, so I changed the one that the computer was reading was wrong and after like 35 miles on the road, it came back on..
I had the same problem with my tundra 17. And brought to toyota and they had to rip off my remote start. And guess what? I did not have anymore problem.
I have a 2013 Toyota Tundra and funny but only when it rains it looses power completely and the trac light turn on ?
try looking into the relay responsible for the traction control in the fuse box under the hood.
I have a 2010 tundra with 80,000 miles on it and the same thing happened. It was the air injection pump and valves that failed. Cost of the repair would be between 2500 and 3000 but due to Toyota extending the warranty to 10 yrs 150,000 mile it was repaired for free. I highly recommended taking your vehicle to the dealer if this happens
Air injection pumps? Not every dealer supports this 150,000 mile thing (from what my dealer said). Is that a manufacturer thing, and I should seek out another dealer?
On the 2010 and up you can order the injection pump online for a couple hundred bucks and put it on yourself it's very simple it's under the passenger side headlight under the plastic shroud they are a few bolts and hoses make sure that each one is put back at the one that goes in and it will work perfectly fine from their own I'm having the same problem in my 2010 with 150000 miles and bought both pumps for two hundred bucks lot cheaper than Toyota also watch for your connection one of mine that plug was coming undone simple fix believe it or not better check engine light and goes into limp mode you can use a OBD2 scanner and delete the code and drive it it will only come back on when the truck is warming up it is for emissions in California and in some states you will fail a inspection if you bypass it what you can buy ordering a plug-and- play module

300,000 miles on my 2011 and this just happened. Have only had to change the brake pads one time on this truck with all these miles…just pulled into the car wash and they came on and I felt it kind of pull. Should I not be driving it like this with the traction and check engine lights on?
It just happen on my 2010 tundra 281000 miles will buy both pumps and install will let you know what happens.
This just happened to my 14 190000 miles, so it’s the injection pumps?
