Manul serpentine belt tentioner

Asked by Dallin Feb 01, 2022 at 11:12 AM about the 2011 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I replaced my alternator, which has a manual
belt tentioner on my model of car. It was the exact
same alternator I took out, but when I put the belt
back one, the exact same way as before. I had to
tighten it to the very end of the tentioner bolt, and it
still was loose enough that my belt is squeaking.
Before the tentioner bolt was only about halfway
and the best was nice and tight. Any ideas?

the pulley on the alts may be different , see if they still have your old one you'll need an impact wrench to get them off as a socket will turn the pulley . Or a different belt can be bought .
