Engine drone at speed

2004 2.7L Convertible

When I stop accelerating and maintain speed the engine drops into a drone
sound. It does not matter which gear as I can reproduce the sound in
each gear using the auto-stick. The car accelerates fine.

Thinking about the sound It sounds similar to my hemi when it goes into
eco mode.

Thoughts?

I took my car into the shop. The drone has vibration in the drive train caused by bad motor mounts. $650. You can diagnose this easily. If you put it in first, accelerate and then let off the gas, you will generate the vibration. mike
