Steady water drip from above my transmission and smells like coolant

My truck ran hot on me and water seems to
be steady dripping from above my
transmission running down the transmission
pan

Sounds like heater core hoses at the firewall left of center facing the engine passenger side at the top . Mine is the same year but a v 6 and that's where they are located. This would drip in the area you stated if leaking coolant. BTW never use just water in your coolant system. It will corrode the system and you wont smell it leaking out when you have a leak .
