My hydraulic fluid is out for my 2001 ford mustang's convertible, however is it possible to put the top down manually? I'm scared to do it because I can't afford a shattered window. Thanks!

Is there any reason you cant top up the fluid reservoir?
Every mechanic wants to charge me $200 to fix the problem, I just thought to myself, can't I just manually put it up and down? Online it saids it takes ATF transmission fluid in the tank, is this as easy as it looks? The tank is tilted so how would you pour the fluid in? Thanks for you help.
I haven't seen that model conv. top setup, but I would think that is a filler cap on it. There should be a "fill level" or dip stick to tell you when it is full. Look around and see if you can find a filler cap. As far as adding flluid, you may need a funnel. NOTE: THE FACT THAT IT IS OUT OF FLUID SAYS THERE IS A LEAK SOMEWHERE. You need to look for a leak after you refill it as you will have the same problem again.
What are these mechanics telling they are going to do for $200? Are they guarantying to eliminate the problem and not just do a band-aid fix?
I can't crank my car up causw my brother took my keys out if town with him and my top is down. Is it possible to close my top without the key
