Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 v6 mustang and when I started it today it
has a knocking sound, I just had an oil change and have
new spark plugs. It's loud on the passenger side.
Anybody have any ideas?

Does this sound happen when standing still....or driving? I could not tell from your note

Most likely a connecting rod bearing is worn out, the best thing to do is have a mechanic listen to it! Oil AROUND the spark plug is most likely from a leaky valve cover gasket. How many miles on the car? Been run hard? Been serviced properly? This is usually a very durable engine!

When I hit the gas it makes the sound, it also makes the sound when I first start the car then it stops.

how many miles? Is car overheating? Is needle ( temp gauge) in the red or over mid point? Could be the bearing in water pump... Need more info please

The car has about 200k but has been well taken care of. Car was overheating before I changed the ccrm and the fan.
