We never have problems with machines until we do- backing up- was the trailer straight? going uphill? are the trailer brakes locking up? Have you kept up on your engine maintenance and service? The F 150 seems a little light to be pulling horses- it will work, but wear out faster than something like an F 250 or bigger

I Have 5.4L V8 With tow Capacity If 9500 Lbs. I Was Backing It Into My driveway From The street, Which Is All flat. I Do Keep Up With Maintenance. I Was Towing A New Trailer This time, All Aluminum, 2 Horse.

In the manual it indicates a “Maximum Trailer Weight” of 4,000 Lbs.pounds and other F-150 models with same specifications have a Maximum Trailer Weight of 8,700.
