Depends on the engines, if the 1997 has the awesome 5.8 and the new one has the same awesome 5.8 then yes. I think most of the2008 models had the triton 5.4 or 4.6. One blows out spark plugs and the other won't let them go. That's how you know what you got. Also the sticker under the hood
