Worried about money and you have a 2010 platinum? I figure if you can pay 40-50k for a truck then you can get the factory parts.

When one purchases a vehicle with all the bells and whistles it only translates to more dollars and cents down the road. Like the cost to replace the plastic lock covering the plastic access hole to lower the spare tire on Ford trucks and SUV's. Does over two hundred bucks sound a little excessive.

Geez guys, with the advantage of the internet for getting helpful information to save you money why wouldn't he ask this question? I wonder the same thing....and I have the same vehicle. Don't slam a guy who has enough sense to apply his options. I like the stand along (alone) comment. I might give that a try myself.
