Bulge in my upper rad hose

Asked by Nater87 Jan 17, 2014 at 12:15 PM about the 2000 Dodge Durango Sport RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I opened up the good the other day
to check my oil and my eyes were
drawn to the upper rad hose that has
a bulge in it. I have done a little
research  but need a more specific
answer to my situation. My truck
doesn't over heat, the heat works
decently in my truck but not
amazing. Could this just be that hose
is worn and needs to be replaced.
Do I replace the thermostat as well? I
have a 2000 dodge Durango 4x4
sport. Any information would be
greatly appreciated.

The hose needs replaced immediately. It is bad ready to bust. I would change the thermostat just because you have it apart right at it already.

Replace hose ASAP. Or you will be sitting on the side of the road with steam shooting everywhere.

Replace the hose and check all other hoses while you are in there, change out the thermostat and flush the system and get new cooler fluid in there, remember to burp the system when you are done.
